"My husband received two blood transfusions at Aspirus Stanley Hospital within the month before he lost his life to cancer. Stanley submitted the bills to Medicare, which paid their portion; but neither Stanley nor Medicare submitted the balances to our private health insurer. Instead, Stanley billed me for all the remaining charges, and I paid a few before realizing they were not being submitted ..."
