ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTSI am Pennsylvania Licensed Clinical Psychologist who provides individual therapy for adults and Older Adults who may be experiencing loss, grief, chronic health issues, Anxiety, depression, and caretaker stress. I conceptualize client issues from a Positive Psychology perspective, which means I focus on clients' strengths and resilience to examine behavior, thoughts, and emotions and how they interact in a person's life. I am a strong believer in the therapeutic alliance, which is one of the main curative factors in therapy. Treatment is more than a set of techniques - it requires unconditional positive regard and empathic care for my clients. I earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) from Chestnut Hill College and both Master's degrees from Loyola University in New Orleans. My practicum, pre doctoral and postdoctoral work included work in addiction therapy, community mental health, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, and the state and local prison systems. My doctoral speciality is psychodiagnostic and forensic testing and assessment. However, I am primarily a clinician at heart and enjoy working with clients in a one-on-one setting. I currently work in long-term care facilities with geriatric patients and their families and provide teletherapy with CHE Behavioral Health Services.... I prefer to employ a coaching approach with my clients, which involves helping the client to discover where their disatisfactions or problems in life are, where they would like to be (e.g., free of those problems), and then contracting on ways to help them acquire the awareness and skills needed to accomplish their goals for themselves.... I see children, adolescents, adults, and couples in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. I work with individuals, groups, and families working through trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. In addition, I often see children suffering from low self-esteem, victims of abuse, ADHD, and other behavioral issues. I also provide career coaching as a consult service and serve as an advocate for children who have an IEP/504 plan. I can offer an integrative approach working with both individuals and sometimes their significant other/family member or parent to provide the best outcome. Life can be stressful.
