Andrea Hernandez, MD

Dr. Andrea Hernandez joined Greenbrook TMS in June 2018 as Medical Director at our Chapel Hill Center. Dr. Hernandez completed her residency training at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina and received her medical degree from Universidad de Ciencias Medicas de Centro America in San Jose. Since then, she has worked with adults with a wide variety of mental health and substance abuse conditions. She has served patients from North Carolina in many different settings: at community mental health clinics in Wilson and Rocky Mount, through telemedicine services at Ocracoke Island, and as attending physician at Vidant Medical Center, Central Regional Hospital, and Alamance Regional Medical Center. A certification by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Practitioners are skilled in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental, addictive, and emotional disorders. They are trained to understand the biological, psychological, and social components of illness. Psychiatrists are qualified to order diagnostic laboratory tests and prescribe medication, as well as to evaluate and treat psychological and interpersonal problems. They are also prepared to intervene with individuals and families who are coping with stress, crises, and other problems in living.
