Optometry
The practice of examining people's eyes to diagnose vision problems. Optometrists also test depth and color perception and the ability to focus and coordinate the eyes. They prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses, test for glaucoma and other eye diseases and the diagnosis of conditions caused by systemic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Optometrists refer patients to other health practitioners as needed.
