It was in 1999 that Dr. Shalmi co-founded New York Pain Consultants with Dr. Luis Fandos.</span><br></p><p style="margin: 0.5em 0px 0.8em; font-size: 1.056rem; line-height: 1.8; color: rgb(88, 89, 91);">In 1989, Dr. Shalmi completed his internship in surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine and went on to Harvard University School of Medicine to complete his residency in anesthesia and critical care.</p><p style="margin: 0.5em 0px 0.8em; font-size: 1.056rem; line-height: 1.8; color: rgb(88, 89, 91);">He became interested in pain management during his residency which became his focus during the latter portion of his training. Dr. Shalmi remained at Harvard for fellowship training in Pain Management which he completed in 1997.</p><p style="margin: 0.5em 0px 0.8em; font-size: 1.056rem; line-height: 1.8; color: rgb(88, 89, 91);">Dr. Shalmi is board certified in Anesthesia and Pain Management. He has lectured on and is published in numerous pain management publications and is a member of various professional organizations.</p><p style="margin: 0.5em 0px 0.8em; font-size: 1.056rem; line-height: 1.8; color: rgb(88, 89, 91);">Dr. Shalmi is an expert in all pain management techniques and has been caring for and healing his patients for over 25 years. He believes that the best plan of care is customized to meet each individual patient’s needs.</p><p style="margin: 0.5em 0px 0.8em; font-size: 1.056rem; line-height: 1.8; color: rgb(88, 89, 91);">He attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and graduated with distinction for research in Oncology. Most recently, he practiced pain medicine at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY.</div><div><br></div><div>Dr. Dickstein earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in North Carolina and Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland..
