Sood, M.D.</b>, is a partner with Pain & Spine Specialists of Connecticut which recently joined forces with National Spine & Pain Centers. </p><p>Dr. Sood has more than 40 years of experience in medicine and is board-certified in both pain medicine and anesthesiology. He has published numerous articles on the topic of pain management and has lectured extensively, both at Grand Round presentations for fellows and faculty at prestigious schools across the country as well as at international medical conferences. </p><p>In addition to treating his patients, Dr. Sood has trained numerous practicing physicians in advanced spinal cord stimulation techniques. Dr. Sood holds teaching affiliations with the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University medical schools.During the course of his career, Dr. Sood has witnessed numerous advances in treatments for chronic pain. He previously worked as a pain management and staff anesthesiologist medical director at the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, director of pain management at Alpine Pain and Spine Specialists and Peak One Pain & Spine Interventional Pain Management, both in Frisco, CO. Most recently, he practiced pain medicine at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY.</div><div><br></div><div>Dr. Dickstein earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in North Carolina and Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.. After its completion, he transitioned to a pain management fellowship (also completed at Johns Hopkins) because he enjoyed the personal interactions and helping people understand and manage their pain.</div><div><br></div><div>Aiming to empower his patients with education and motivation for healthy lifestyle options to help manage pain long term, Dr. Dickstein notes medication management is only one part of a balanced approach that also includes diet, exercise and minimally invasive interventional approaches.</div><div><br></div><div>Away from the office, Dr. Dickstein enjoys hiking with his wife Heidi who is also a physician and their two Weimaraner dogs.</div>...
