Find a Physician Who Performs Cardiac Catheterization near you
Cardiac catheterization is a procedure performed to check the condition of the heart and/or coronary arteries. In this procedure a thin flexible tube called a catheter is passed into a blood vessel and advanced into the heart. The catheter's tip can be seen with X-rays, allowing it to be moved to different portions of the heart and surrounding blood vessels. A dye is often put in the catheter to make the blood vessels that feed the heart show up on the X-ray looking for blockages.
