From a young age, she learned medicine observing her father's sincerity, hard work, respect, and compassion for his patients. Dr. Vafaie completed a prestigious seven-year BA/MD program at The George Washington University School of Medicine in 2003. She then pursued her internship, residency and fellowship at UC Irvine, NYMC, and UMDNJ. Dr. Vafaie has been practicing dermatology in Westwood/Beverly Hills, and Malibu since 2008. Dr. Vafaie was an assistant professor at one time, but now focuses on private practice as a board-certified dermatologist . She travels nationwide lecturing on acne and eczema. She is known as a regional expert in acne and hyperhidrosis for research and development. She is well published in various scientific journals and books. Dr. Vafaie was honored among the "Best Dermatologist in Los Angeles" by LA magazine, a peer- and community-nominated recognition, and voted to the "Southern California Super Doctors, Rising Stars Edition" for 2014, 2015, and 2016. Recently, Dr. Vafaie won the honor of being voted one of the Super Doctors of Los Angeles, 2019 edition, and was selected to the 2020 "Southern California Super Doctors" list.
