Bacterial Pneumonia
Bacterial pneumonia is an infection in the lung tissues caused by bacteria. When bacteria invade the lungs, the small air sacs in the lungs (the alveoli) become inflamed, causing them to fill with fluid. This interferes with the lungs' ability to take in oxygen from the air and expel the carbon dioxide produced by the body.
