"If a provider could be given a negative reading here, we would give minimally a -10. If you have read the other negative comments regarding this man's delivery of care, I can only agree with them 100%. He doesn't listen, doesn't make any effort to know his patients at any level and literally I believe he has his "Plan" before he even walks in the exam room to hear what's going on. He was nothing short of negligent in his assessment of my family member. He is arrogant and thinks because he is the doctor, he is who knows best. Well, he was wrong in our case, very wrong! Our story isn't over yet.....I'll bet he wishes it was. "

"Starts out nice but became arrogant and rude. "

"I recently had an unfortunate experience with Dr. Z. DeYoung. Throughout our interaction, I found Dr. DeYoung to be rather rude, and lacking in any empathy what so ever. It left me feeling quite terrible and I must admit, I would hesitate to recommend him to others. It's disheartening when a doctor fails to demonstrate compassion and understanding. I believe that effective communication and empathy are components of a good doctor. While I understand that every individual has their own unique style and approach, it seems reasonable that doctors should at a minimal not be rude and mean to his patients. "

"Unfortunately I had a bad experience with Dr. DeYoung. I have a history of high cholesterol but during a yearly physical I happened to have a reasonable reading just below 200. The next year he wouldn’t do another lipid panel. I figured I wouldn’t worry about it and was happy to wait a year. But two years later I wanted another reading because the only reading he had was likely low due to an exercise regimen I was on at the time that I had given up. So I wanted to see where I was at to guide any needed life changes. Was I still ok or had my high cholesterol returned? He literally refused saying that it wasn’t the specified interval. He got pretty upset and really defensive about it and went on to talk about how intervals had changed. Like I can’t monitor my own cholesterol? I just didn’t get it. I won’t be back. The guy has a BIG ego and unless you want to really stroke it, he’s not for you. He is easily offended if you think you may know your health better than him."

"Dismissive, rude, uncaring, unattentive, and lacking communication skills. His only concern is to push pharmaceutical agendas."

"Easy to get an appointment. Provider is very thorough and answered all of my questions. Follows up with medication checks regularly. "

"Unfortunately, 0 is not an option. It took over 2 weeks to receive a call back. Compassion and care that I would expect from a doctor are absolutely 0. Quick to prescribe un-needed medications & abandons his patients when asked for referrals or a second opinion. No bloodwork rechecks, no empathy. If you are thinking about becoming a patient, please go elsewhere. Do yourself a favor & save your health, time, money."

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
