OVERVIEW
Dr. Wilbur C. Hitt, Jr. was educated at UAMS and did his residency at the associated University Hospital. He entered private practice in 1993 and remained connected to UAMS during the statewide development of telemedicine through a network know as Antenatal, Neonatal Guidelines, Education and Learning System (ANGELS). Dr. Hitt returned to UAMS in 2007 and became Director of the General OB/GYN Division at UAMS and currently oversees eight generalists. He is also the Practice Director of University Women's Health Center, the faculty clinic for UAMS OB/GYN Department. He is active in developing the Center for Vulvar Disorders and is in the process of establishing a second faculty women's health clinic in West Little Rock. Dr. Hitt remains involved in the UAMS mentoring program while maintaining his vigorous clinic schedule of caring for clinic patients, attending to labor and delivery services and taking night call. He continues to be involved in the drafting, revision and …dissemination of ANGELS standard-of-care guidelines. Dr. Hitt's primary research interest is in telehealth.
