OVERVIEW
Being raised in Pasadena, California, I loved the ability to play with my Christmas toys outside on Christmas day. This was something my extended family members in Indianapolis, Indiana could not do. I saw the reasons early on why my father moved the family from the cold Midwest to the sunny West Coast. I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor degree in kinesiology. I then entered the USC School of Medicine with every intention in becoming an orthopedic surgeon, but after being exposed to the specialty of anesthesia I found my true calling in medicine.. I received my anesthesia training at the State University of New York, Brooklyn. There I served as chief resident and received the Outstanding Anesthesia Resident Award. After completing my anesthesia residency, I decided to get additional training in the rewarding sub-specialty of pain management from The Mayo Clinic.
