Dr. Timothy Hembree is a Moffitt faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine, Internal and Hospital Medicine Program. Dr. Hembree is the Assistant Chief Medical Officer at Moffitt Cancer Center and in that role he serves as the Physician Advisor liaison to the Case Management team. His responsibilities include optimization of patient flow and a focus on quality improvement initiatives within the cancer center. Dr. Hembree received his DO degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida, and his PhD degree in Biochemistry at the University of Texas, Health Science Center, in San Antonio. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Hembree was previously a Hospitalist at Inpatient Medical Services at Salem Regional Medical Center in Ohio, where he served as the Medical Director. Dr. Hembree's clinical focus is on the care of patients with preexisting/chronic illness or medical conditions, such as diabetes, COPD, and HTN, that require inpatient hospitalization during the course of their cancer treatment. He also focuses on acute problems that arise during cancer treatment.
