OVERVIEW
Thomas P. Birk, D.O., began his practice at the Beaver River Health Center, Beaver Falls, NY, in early November 2007.
Dr. Birk began his medical education at Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Following graduation he joined the United States Army and in 1995 he attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating with his doctorate in 1999.
Following graduation he performed his Family Practice Internship and Residency at the DeWitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, VA. He then went to Korea and from 2002 to 2005 he was the Officerin-Charge and Family Physician at the Camp Hialeah Troop Medical Clinic. In 2005, Dr. Birk returned to the states and continued his career at Fort Drum, NY, as a Family Physician.
Dr. Birk was honorably discharged from the Army in 2006 with the rank of Major. He currently lives in Carthage, NY, with his wife of 12 years Joyce Heinrich Birk who is a …Podiatrist. They are proud parents to three children, Aila, 10, Elise, 9 and 6 year old Ian.
According to Dr. Birk, "I look forward to working with the people of the North Country. We have met some real nice people and enjoy the beauty of the area."
Dr. Birk also told us that he is active in the Christian faith, enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid sports fan and loves working out. He also mentioned that he enjoys playing the piano and looks forward to new home improvement projects.
Dr. Birk is Board Certified in Family Medicine and his practice will include a Full Family Practice scope: Newborns, adolescents, adult, geriatric population, and a full scope of specialty medicines.
