Meet Dr. Terry Levitt
Terry A. Levitt, DMD, MSD
Hi, and thanks so much for visiting our website. Please allow me a few moments to introduce myself. I am fortunate to have been part of a well-respected orthodontic practice since 1992. I am a second-generation orthodontist, following in the footsteps of my father, Dr. Ellis J. Levitt. Levitt Orthodontics has been proud to serve the Montgomery/Bucks County and Philadelphia communities since 1970.
I graduated with my DMD from Temple University Dental School in 1986, as one of the youngest graduates in the history of the dental school. I entered into a rigorous one year general practice residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Following completion of this program, I had the honor of being invited to teach junior and senior dental students at Temple Dental School. In 1992, I completed a two-year residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Temple University. Admission into an orthodontics program is quite selective, …accepting only 5-6 residents per year out of an applicant pool of over 300. While completing my residency, I received a Masters of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and was lucky to have my master’s thesis dealing with growth in cleft palate patients published in the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Journal.
In order to provide our patients with the most up to date advances in orthodontics, I frequently take continuing education courses supported by the American Association of Orthodontics and local professional organizations. Additionally, I am an active member of the following dental organizations:
American Association of Orthodontists
Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics
Pennsylvania and Montgomery-Bucks Dental Associations
American Association of Women Dentists
College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists
Invisalign Aligntech Institute
Damon Study Club
I feel honored to be part of the medical staff at Holy Redeemer Medical Center in Meadowbrook, and thrilled to be partnered with the "Smiles Change Lives" program, which allows us to create beautiful smiles for less fortunate children in our area.
When not in the office, my family and I are extremely involved with the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund at Fox Chase Cancer Center. We are part of a group of volunteers who focus our efforts on raising funds to help find a cure for breast cancer.
With the little bit of free time I have, I also enjoy hiking in the park with my husband and dog, working out, and cooking. Feel free to ask me for some recipe ideas, I’d love to share.
My husband, Mike Garfinkle, and I live in Holland, with our son and daughter. Our greatest joy is spending time watching them on the soccer field, volleyball court, or baseball diamond, or traveling as a family.
I look forward to meeting you!
