Dr. Teja Kapoor has clinical and research interests in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and recently joined as an attending in the Columbia Lupus Center. She has given presentations on Lupus at local and national conferences. She is also one of the adult rheumatologists in the Adolescent Rheumatology Transition Program for young adults with autoimmune diseases who are transitioning from their pediatric rheumatologist.
Dr. Kapoor is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is very involved with teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. She is a Columbia alumnus where she completed her rheumatology fellowship training.
Dr. Kapoor is a graduate of New York Medical College and completed her medicine residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She has experience working in a high-patient volume practice taking care of patients with rheumatologic diseases in the community setting and continues to practice general rheumatology and perform joint injections in her practice in Columbia Univ. Medical Center and ColumbiaDoctors Riverdale offices. She brings a compassionate and personalized approach to each of her patients. She is fluent in Hindi and Marathi.
