Svetlana Yakov, MD, Ph.D. is a Psychiatrist who has a combined background in Neurology, Psychiatry, and Medicine.

 Dr. Yakov opened Ketamine Treatment MD, Clinic with the goal of increasing access to underserved people due to the shortage of psychiatrists population to innovative anti-suicidal outpatient treatment.

With a strong belief that increasing access to Ketamine treatment will decrease the number of ER visits, Psychiatric Admissions, and a number of disabilities, Dr. Yakov is dedicated to helping patients increase their quality of life with treatment-resistant mental illnesses.

She learned about modern mechanisms of Depression (inflammatory, hormonal, metabolic, genetic), and modern approaches to the management of treatment-resistant depression including IV Ketamine and Endonasal S-Ketamine.

Personalized Approach Based On Genetic Testing

Dr. Yakov performs Psychopharmacological Genetic Testing in her office (saliva swab) to see if individual liver metabolism …or/and specific brain receptors of the patient are not functioning well and contributing to the poor patient’s response to traditional oral antidepressants, mood stabilizers, or antipsychotics. 

Based on the results of this test Dr. Yakov can choose safer (with fewer side effects) and more effective medications that together with endonasal s-ketamine could be administered to the patients to get clinical effects and improve severe mental health conditions.
