"I had an appointment to see Dr. Steven Wiseman for my annual check-up on 8/13/2015 at 1:30 PM. He showed up approximately an hour later and the first question out of his mouth was, "So why aren't you working?" His next question was, "So when are you going to get a life?" Last time I checked, he was my primary doctor, not my counselor or coach. I was there to find out what's physically wrong with me, not to get hammered with rude, personal questions. The prior few visits, he had been trying to infiltrate my personal life more and more, but this particular day was a step too far. When we finally got around to talking about my medical issues, he completely dismissed them (as usual, but in an even more dismissing way this time). He called the problem in the middle of my forehead "not real" when it clearly was; he said that dark urine while experiencing abdominal pain is "impossible" even though it had been happening to me on several occasions; and he believed that most of my problems were "psychosomatic" when they're clearly not. Then he had the nerve to tell me that my long-term, long-distance relationship with my boyfriend (at the time) "isn't a real relationship" and that I should be out having more fun (as in having more sex, based on past conversations with him). That's when I got up, told him that I had enough and took back my CD with proof of degenerative disc disease in my neck (x-rays I had gotten the previous year) as well as the list of other physical problems I had been facing. He said that I was just running away from my problems, but I disagree - I was running away from him. He was being extremely rude, and I just could no longer tolerate either his unprofessional conduct or his unwillingness to help me discover the truth about my medical problems and how to treat them. My father was a witness to the incident, and we both came out of it extremely stressed and inconvenienced as a result of Dr. Wiseman's mistreatment. As it turns out, some time afterwards I went to see a wonderful urologist who I will refer to as Dr. C., who discovered that I had a build-up of several large kidney stones that needed to be removed via shock wave lithotripsy. In other words, had I not stood up for myself and gotten a second opinion, I could very well have died or, at the very least, suffered even more severely due to Wiseman's malpractice. The irony of his last name still causes me to roll my eyes to this day. Do yourself a favor: choose life and self-dignity, don't ignore your body and intuition, and seek out a better primary doctor."

"I have been going to Dr. Wiseman for years. He is always concerned for my health and so far has been very accurate on my diagnosis and treatment. I just finished my yearly physical and and he was very thorough. I like his demeanor and his office staff have always been very helpful."

"Dr. Wiseman is a good doctor BUT be prepared for a poor experience with his staff. I was trying to make an appointment and waited 3 days for them to call me back. When they did, I had already made an appointment with another doc for an urgent matter. He decided that since I saw another doctor, he wouldn't have me as a patient any longer. Very unprofessional."

"Dr. Wiseman is the smartest doctor I know in Tulsa. Sometimes you have to wait for a long time in his waiting room, but his knowledge is worth the wait. He is brilliant. He cares deeply about his patients, and that is the most important."

" am a new resident to Oklahoma and was seeking to find a primary care physician. After searching my insurance company's list of physicians that are approved, I chose to visit him. My first visit went well. I felt pleased with services. I wish I could say the same for my second interaction with him. I was in Colorado for the holidays when I began to have a horrific rash in my armpits. I called the Teladoc service to try to get quick relief. The physician ordered the wrong medication and never responded to requests to update the order from the pharmacist. The pharmacist attempted to help with selecting OTC items in the meantime. Now that I am back in town and my symptoms are worse I called the on call service to see if he could help me out with the issue. Upon receiving his call and advising him of my issue he responded, "You called the Teladoc, didn't get what you wanted, now you're calling me on a Saturday. What is it that you want me to do exactly." I stated, "I guess nothing." and hung up. He was irritated that I interrupted his day apparently. I will NEVER return to his practice again and will advise EVERYONE about the extraordinarily horrible service I experienced. DO NOT make the same mistake I did. DO NOT see this physician. You may find yourself in my shoes being made to feel like a burden because my ailment did not fall within his schedule. Unprofessional, terrible bed side manner, lacks compassion. If I could score less I would. Horrible experience."

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
