"I cannot believe I did not read these reviews earlier - they are all 1000% true. He is the least empathetic provider I have ever met, was highly accusatory, and genuinely did not listen to anything I said. I have also never cried during an appointment, but his words implied that I was drug-seeking and making things up. He made me feel hopeless and unheard. He also seems to have preconceived notions about people and disorders and is very ignorant. I have gone months thinking the way he treated me was normal and I stopped asking for psychiatric help and going to therapy after dealing with him and another terrible Kaiser therapist, but after reading these reviews I see maybe I should have asked to switch. Honestly what the hell is the point of asking for support if the people providing the support are the worst? "

"Horrible experience. Condescending, discriminatory, and incompetent. Barely listened to me before jumping to a conclusion that, had he read my chart, he should have realized was impossible. Worst. "

"All the reviews are 100 % accurate. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD maybe 12 years ago in college. Had pretty good handle on it this whole time. Recently, I started to feel like I need to update my prescription (just like we do with glasses) so I managed to make an appointment with this one. Lord… I feel suicidal after having the pleasure of talking to him. He just follow the script, doesn’t want to hear anything from you and he already made up his mind that I’m a drug addict. He then decided to cancelled my life-saving medication (Ritalin) and had the audacity to send me to some rehab services which called me like immediately - wtf scam are you running there? And it is all because I consume over 100 mg of weed a day. So he just latched on to that idea and heard/saw nothing else. There was no convincing him. We are in a legalized state, update your knowledge if you going to act arrogant. So now that I’m unmedicated, Sterling Tadlock, if I get into a car crash or accidentally run someone ...
over because I wasn’t paying attention - the blood is on your hands. "

"OMG! The reviews are correct. He is very short and rude. I don't particularly appreciate that he's condescending & dismissive. I asked if he could refer me to a different doctor because I didn't like his attitude, and he told me that the other doctors would do the same thing. Then when I told him I would report him to member services, he tried to switch up and act as though he was trying to be helpful. I do not like him at all! "

"Rude and condescending "

"Sadly I dont think Dr Tadlock was meant to be a psychiatrist. I asked him if I would have to be on medications for the rest of my life and he said “I dont see any other alternative.” He has no personality it was like talking to a robot reading a script. He made me feel sad and defeated. "

"Dr. Tadlock spent a majority of the appointment having me re-answer a survey I had already filled out at least twice in the intake process and with the nurse practitioner. When it was finally my turn to talk about how my symptoms impact my life, he cut me off after two examples telling me he had a clear idea. Then at the end of the appointment, he tells me he won’t put me on meds because he still needs to rule out that my symptoms aren’t being caused by other issues. So much for having a “clear idea” You know what would help rule out other possibilities? Listening to the rest of my symptoms. Everything I’m reading in these other reviews is so accurate it’s not even funny. He kept talking over me, I felt like I was being rushed and not listened to, he was condescending and tone deaf. Not to mention the offensively outdated language he used regarding transgender identities. This man is the absolute last person who should be working with people who have mental illnesses and disabilities. ...
That would probably explain why he works for Kaiser Permenente. "

"He’s honestly one of the worst doctors I’ve had—and that list is short. He doesn’t understand empathy, comes across as condescending, isn’t really helpful when it comes to questions. he defers you to a different department and helpline number. I feel uncomfortable to the point where I am seeking a new psych. Save your time and avoid this guy. The other reviews sound right"

"This is my first time writing a review for an MD - but in this particular case I felt it quite necessary. I was assigned to Dr. Tadlock through Kaiser. Having moved quite frequently in my life, I've worked with various psychiatrists - but this was the worst experience by far. Even from the first appointment - he was rude, judgmental (acting suspicious without reason), and showed a complete lack of empathy. As mentioned in other reviews, he is accusatory and fails to listen - making his patients feel like a number and drug seekers. During one appointment, he raised his voice following my suggestion to slightly adjust a medication dose. I don't think psychiatrists need to be therapists, but I do believe some bedside is necessary - which he completely lacks. I can't express how refreshing it is to read other patient's for him - because I constantly felt like the difficult patient. I'm surprised I put up with manipulation for almost a year - but I've officially switched psychiatrists. If you're ...
assigned to Dr. Tadlock, please do yourself a favor and find someone new. "

"He was condescending, patronizing, rude, and lacked compassion. I went to one appointment and had such a terrible experience that I have asked for a new doctor. I can't emphasize enough what a horrible experience I had with him. I literally wanted to leave Kaiser because of him after being a member for nearly 19 years."

"I was under this doctor's care for approximately one year, while I was dealing with anxiety and depression. Of all the doctors I have ever seen in the 15 or so years that I've been treated for mental health, he was the worst. Poor bedside manner, does not show compassion and is condescending, as other reviewers have stated. Kaiser has a bad reputation for mental health care, and this doctor confirms that reputation. I switched insurance providers the following year, and have only returned to Kaiser as my mental health has stabilized. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. "

"Constantly talks over you, makes you feel like you've done something wrong by being condescending, rude and cold. I don't need a doctor to be extremely warm and fuzzy but to be spoken to like that by one regarding my mental health, really was unhelpful, I had one appointment and would not recommend him to anyone. Decided to leave this review after learning he has a bad reputation among other doctors in his insurance network as well."

"He has awful, short and continuously spoke over me and raised his voice at me. I have been seeking psych care for 10 years and he was by far the worst person I ever encountered. I would highly suggest you stay very far away. He was short and did not want to review medical history or history of medications that have worked. This man should not be in this field of work. "

Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.
