"Almost 10 years ago Dr Steinmetz subjected me to his version of reconstructive surgery. He botched the job, I think deliberately. I had been attacked by a dog. I went to him for bilateral brachioplasty. He claimed to collect, from me, money for the hospital bill, which he stated was a special arrangement he had with them. He lied. The hospital billed Medicare, who paid. He did not do what he was hired to do. He botched the job so bad other plastic surgeons, and other doctors have been aghast, literally. He charged me $1800 extra for liposuction of my back, which he failed to perform at all. He took my money and refused to return it. I filed a complaint with the Alabama Board of Medicine. He told them I had manipulated the insurance adjuster. (How? The adjuster had over 25 years of experience. I never asked for anything.) Whatever you do, find someone else to perform your surgery. He evidently thinks he has the right to do whatever he wants, and gets by with it. Please, find someone else ...
