Dr. Howarth is a Delaware County native and graduated from Springfield High School in 1971. He attended Penn State University receiving his B.S. in finance in 1975, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving his D.M.D. in 1981.
His background includes 10 years of teaching Preclinical & Clinical Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania where he became one of six clinical group leaders. Additionally, he taught physiology for two years at Penn State University.
Like his father before him, Willard A. Howarth, he is a member of the Mathew Cryer Society, a distinction honored to the top 10 dental students in his class at Penn. He is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, representing the top 10% of Dental Students in the country.
He is a member in good standing of the AGC (Academy of General Dentistry), the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental …Association, and the Delaware/Chester County Dental Association.
He is married to Janet, and is the father of Kristin, Jennifer and Steve Jr. In addition to his love for model railroading, he also enjoys woodworking, photography, backpacking, and is in the never-ending process of restoring his 135 year old home.
