Dr. Schulman has been a member of the Scripps Clinic Medical Group since 1995. Her special clinical interests include systemic lupus erythematosis and osteoporosis. She also actively participates in ongoing clinical trials within the Division of Rheumatology. Her research experience has included post-doctoral training in cellular immunology with an emphasis on T-helper responses and cytokine production post treatment with drugs such as cyclophosphamide. During fellowship training she was a recipient of the Physician Scientist Development Award from the Arthritis Foundation. She has given educational lectures for the Arthritis Foundation on subjects including osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis, and has been involved in preparing rheumatologic topics for internal medicine board reviews.
