"Not only did she tell me I was being disrespectful for waving my hands during my first telehealth visit, but she actually told me to find another doctor. Worst experience I have had with a doctor, hands down. If you can't handle people being weird because they are off their meds, you probably shouldn't be in healthcare."

"I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. I visited Sherry Gergis in another step toward healing after a lifetime of suffering due to sexual abuse and mental illness. In exchange for my vulnerability and candidness about my traumas, I spent 2 long hours being repeatedly victim-blamed, gaslit and infantilized. This woman seemingly lacks empathy and compassion for victims of abuse, despite her several attempts to verbally assure me that she’s an empathetic person. (Actions > words.) I’m extremely thankful for my current therapist and the work we’ve done, because had this psychiatric visit occurred a few years ago, it might have provoked me to harm myself or even take my own life. I genuinely fear for the wellbeing of her patients. The newfound awareness that my journey might again land me in the office of such a judgmental and callous “mental health professional” has heightened my distrust in the mental health field, and drastically lessened my hope for recovery."
