Dr. Shalini Shetty was born and raised in India, where she completed her medical degree at the esteemed DR B.R. Ambedkar Medical College. She then moved to the United States to pursue further training, completing her residency in General Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York. Following this, she specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through a fellowship at Northwell Health, New York. Dr. Shetty has extensive experience treating patients across the lifespan, including those from varied socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Her diverse training and practice in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room settings have equipped her with a comprehensive approach to psychiatric care.

For the past six years, Dr. Shetty has been practicing in Texas, where she has developed a strong passion for working with special needs populations, both children and adults, and individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Her expertise extends to treating …eating disorders, Tourette’s disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, as well as Mood, Anxiety, and Psychotic disorders. Her experiences living in multiple states across the U.S., including Illinois, North Carolina, and New York, have enhanced her ability to engage with patients in a nurturing and nonjudgmental manner. Dr. Shetty is dual board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and holds an unrestricted license to practice in Texas.

Dr. Shetty is multilingual, fluent in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada, which allows her to connect with a diverse patient population effectively. She believes in meeting individuals where they are and guiding them through their journey toward well-being. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Shetty enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Her personal interests and diverse background enrich her professional practice, fostering a holistic and empathetic approach to psychiatric care.
