"So this review is a long time coming. Here is my story… Back track to September 2019. I had recently been bitten by a spider that did a number on my skin so I made an appointment to see Dr. Scott Edwards a dermatologist in Brooksville, FL. While being seen there I asked him to look at the tip of my nose which has been recently changing a lot. I explained to him that it was once a little pimple ”like” dot and I squeezed it and it turned red & never went away. In 2016 I saw a dermatologist for it and told him exactly that and he replied “oh you did it to yourself and the only way to remove it would to be to surgically remove it.” Well I replied that it was nothing some makeup wouldn’t cover and then left. Dr. Scott said it looked like a basal cell carcinoma and said we need to do a biopsy and if in fact it is we would need to schedule Mohs Surgery .Dr. Scott did not cut corners – he said this gone untreated could cause brain cancer. back to 2016 I’m now thinking that that doctor saying ”you did it to yourself” was actually referring to me laying in the sun at a young age & not me squeezing the pimple. Not once did he say it was suspicious or that I needed a biopsy. Some people should not be doctors ! At this point in my mind I am thinking this cancer is 3 years old already and I am not happy. So during the follow up Dr. Scott recommended Dr. Basil Cherpellis at USF in Tampa. Dr. Cherpellis was a very pleasant, upfront, to the point doctor. He explained everything thoroughly and said we would not know anything until he went in and that he would continue to do so until it was gone. He said I can’t tell you how small or big the hole will be – mind you this is the tip of my nose. Surgery was scheduled for 12/19/19 I also chose Dr. Michael Harrington of USF/ Tampa General Hospital as my plastic surgeon. He was also very pleasant but by the time I met him I was a mess. I did a lot of research, had a million questions & even had a few pictures of my nose to give him. Needless to say he could tell I was a mess. LOL . He did a great job calming me down and explained everything in detail about the surgery. By the time I left his office I was quite confident that I was in good hands. Dr. Cherpellis only had to go into the site twice to remove the cancer. The following day Dr. Harrington performed his magic (as I now refer to it) and I went home. I had to wait a certain amount of time before I removed the bandages and when I did you could hear me throughout the house. Even though it was exactly what he said it would look like I lost it ! I proceeded to care for it exactly as I was told and the stitches were removed on December 26th. I am happy to say that these three doctors have my utmost respect and their professionalism is one to be proud of. I am sharing these pictures with you not to gross you out but to show you how happy I am with the outcome. I totally recommend these three gentlemen and thank you all for what you have done for me.
