"My first experience with Dr Dunitz with my first hip replacement was a
Very good
One ! He kept me comfortable
Via controlling
The pain before and after surgery. Now 4 yrs later is a different story. He had me do an mri to get a true view of my right hip ,
I was in a tremendous amount of pain,
At my appt he brought my husband to the pt room and said” this one is bad , is worse than your left one was, but I’m not doing your surgery because of your depression . I told him I’ve been depressed since I was 6 yrs old and it didn’t stop him from doing my left hip 4 yrs back. He acted very casual and unfeeling about how much pain I was in, just plain acted like he didn’t care. I was so shocked and told him this pain I was in was making
Me
Way more depressed,
But he had already made up his mind ,
And frankly just didn’t care for whatever reason. I was so surprised, shocked is a better word bcs j thought we had a good patient to provider relationship. I will say he’s NOT the same caring ...Dr I knew 4 years ago. Would
Not
Recommend him to anyone,
He seems somewhat unstable
In his decision making
Process these days. I don’t know maybe he wants to retire, he really should with that asinine reason for not doing a surgery . Everyone knows open heart surgery pts have post surgical depression a lot,
So should the cardiologist not do their surgery? I would say in these 2 situations the benefits of the surgeries outweigh the risk. "Read more

"I have the finest total knee replacement available done by an expert surgeon. My knee has healed well. And it feels like a normal knee. Dr. Dunitz checks and double checks the replacement fits and doesn’t become infected. I have the “Cadillac of knee replacements!” I’d use Dr. Dunitz again!"
