Dr. Kashyap obtained her medical degree from the University of California Irvine College of Medicinein 1994. Dr. Kashyap subsequently completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at St.Elizabeth’s Medical Center-Tufts University in 1997. After completing her residency, she became afellow in Endocrinology at West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center-University (1997to 1999). Afterward, she completed a Postgraduate Research Fellowship from 1999-2003 at theUniversity of Texas Health Science Center. From 2005-2008 Dr. Kashyap completed a ClinicalResearch Scholars program at Case Western Reserve University. In 2008 Dr. Kashyap became an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic LernerCollege of Medicine, and by 2017 she was promoted to Professor of Medicine. In 2019, she became Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship training program and a ClinicalResearch preceptor for the medical students at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Kashyap’s clinical and research focus is on insulin resistance, obesity, and type 2 diabetesendocrine/hormonal effects of bariatric surgery.
