"I slipped on the bathroom floor and hit my pinky on the wall as I fell rupturing the tendon at the first knuckle. The first surgeon I went to was extremely warm and attentive; however, he did not put my finger in the correct splint and it would have been forever bent. Part of my degree is in piano performance and I write on a keyboard all day. It would have been detrimental to my life and psychological well being to have a bent pinky permanently. Dr. Koo gave was worried it had been almost 2 months in the wrong splint and sent me to their hand specialist immediately to make the proper splint. I think I was supposed to wear it for several months which turned into almost a year because I could not risk it not healing properly. My pinky is strong and straight because I went to see Dr. Koo. I will be forever grateful to him and his team. The office I visited was dusty and they could use better a better cleaning service, but Dr. Koo is happy, outgoing, positive, and down to earth. Most importantly, ...he is competent and great company during the exams. When you have pain or a severe injury, it's not fun to have someone messing with it. His calm demeanor puts you at ease during an extremely unpleasant exam. Great staff! Great team! "Read more

"I am sure Dr. Koo is a capable orthopedic surgeon. Unfortunately his caring and kindness for his patients is lacking. I saw Dr. Koo for a redo radial head replacement surgery on 1/10/22. I was treated poorly and sent away with a cortisone injection for my "tennis elbow". I was given no parting instructions. When I scheduled my own follow up his office manager called saying he won't do the redo and that they were canceling the appointment. As a thought leader in a different medical field I find this a disturbing way to handle a patient in acute/chronic pain that is left with an arm that can not reliably perform simple activities like brushing my teeth or washing dishes. The hypocritic oath says do no harm, but by not acting to assist a patient that is now unemployed due to the poor surgical outcome forced to sell his home during a pandemic that is doing great harm. This review is not left in anger, but as a warning to patients looking for a redo surgery. Beware!
