I am a strong supporter of taking a multidisciplinary approach to managing often-complex disease processes in order to achieve optimal results. I pride myself on providing patient-centered care, making sure patients and their families understand all the diagnostic and treatment options available to them, as well as the potential benefits and risks of surgery. I have a particular interest in minimally invasive thoracic surgical approaches, which can help to minimize postoperative discomfort and get patients back to their activities of daily living as soon and as safely as possible.

"Dr. Macke saved my husbands life almost 2 years ago. My husband was rushed from Banner Heart hospital in Mesa Az. in the middle of the night to Banner Boswell in Sun City. Dr. Macke was there waiting at 1am for Wayne to arrive by ambulance. At 2am Dr. Macke and Dr. Goodman and many others had my husband in surgery. After a 3 weeks in ICU he was released to go to rehab which he stayed at for 3 days (he worked hard to get his stength back. )The last time Dr. Macke saw Wayne he weighed 125 pounds today he is up to 154 pounds. And is back to mormal ! I thank Dr. Macke so very much for saving my husbands life . Sandra Lusthoff"
