"Dr.Roferta Poloco will cause more pain & anguish long before he'd help you. His bedside manner is down right disgusting. He is disrespectful, rude, dismissive, arrogant, STONE COLD, condescending, void of compassion, lacks empathy, racist, and display inhumane behavior towards patients. I had this awful doctor at least 5 times as an inpatient at Kendall Regional. The board of directors should be ashamed & embarrassed to have him representing the hospital in any capacity. No one deserves maltreatment especially anyone in pain. He'd come all hours of the night & drill you with ridiculous questions WHEN HE WAKE YOU UP. He will NOT ask you anything related to your pain! He was more concerned with what I did for a living than treating my pain. As the patient your input is irrelevant at this hospital. You'll learn very quickly that the only voice he is interested in hearing is his own. Mid conversation he will walkout on you. Leaving you confused and dumbfounded. My husband tried speaking to him, and this doctor quickly became agitated then begin to gaslight us. I wish I couldn't leave any stars as the public should be warned. He will brag about his 40+ years of experience unsolicited. In that amount of time he hasn't learned ANY bedside manners or common decency. He's extremely callous and disconnected. His best medical advice was to "go home" the day I was admitted. I was given 2mg of morphine over 2 days and I wasn't responding. Another doctor stepped in on day 2 & raised the dose to 4mg. 24 hours later I began to feel better. This man is a huge liability to Kendall Regional. Patients should be protected from a doctor this dismissive & negligent. The public should steer clear of this poor excuse for a board certified physician. Patients needing pain management shouldn't be exposed to such a character or his lack there of. He is the only pain management doctor at this hospital. That alone is crazy. The only patients that have positive experiences are Hispanic. Not being Hispanic the racism was loud & clear. My husband tried talking to him. Instead of having a respectful conversation he shutdown saying he didn't want to argue. Although he was the only one with aggression in his tone. He's very threatened by patients & family members who advocate for themselves. Dr. Poloco is ethically bankrupt. He is however an excellent example of a doctor from hell. If I were dying I wouldn't want to be in his care or at Kendall Regional. This entire hospital should be shutdown for allowing the public to be exposed to such maltreatment by their staff. This is the culture of Kendall Regional. Positive experiences are far & few in between almost rare. Take your loved ones anywhere except there. At least they'd have a chance. As long as Dr. Poloco is employed there, there is no hope for a positive experience. I've read many other reviews & I am mortified at the many negative reviews that mirrored my experience. I agree with the overwhelming sentiment that this place should be shutdown. A "licensed nurse" tried to put an IV in my arm twice & missed both attempts. I was left with black and blue arms. On the 3rd attempt a different nurse was successful the 1st time. In a 3 day stay, I was poked & prodded a total 6 times. He's a disgrace to the medical profession. His license should be revoked by the State of Fl. permanently. Your life is in the hands of a doctor portrayed by most as a monster. I'd describe his care as poor & that would be a compliment. When we recognized he lacked ANY bedside manner then the manipulation began. Dr. Poloco then said "he wanted to build rapport with me." We should've started there! This is a Trauma center. However they spend a lot of time traumatizing their own patients with aborrent behavior from their staff. You can clearly hear patients screaming for help from various rooms. This is NOT where sick people should go! At Baptist hospital patients are treated with kindness, compassion, respect, and attentiveness."
