Dr. Roberto Pineda, MD

Dr. Pineda is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, and was formerly Chief Resident and Cornea Fellow at Mass. Eye and Ear. He joined the Infirmary staff in 1998, served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Brigham & Women's Hospital, and is currently the Director of the Refractive Surgery Service and a member of the Cornea Service at MEE. His primary interests are in refractive surgery and in complex corneal and anterior segment reconstruction. Dr. Pineda has regularly performed refractive surgery since 1995 and has been co-investigator in excimer laser FDA clinical trials while also developing tools used in managing LASIK complications. He has co-authored 4 textbooks, published numerous papers, and been an invited speaker at national and international ophthalmic conferences.
