OVERVIEW
Robert C. Hirst, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Hirst is committed to excellence in every aspect of periodontal treatment and in his relationships with patients, staff members, and referring dentists.
West Virginia University School of Dentistry is where Dr. Hirst chose to receive his Doctor of Dental Science (D.D.S.) degree. He was president of his senior class and presented a commencement speech on ethics in dentistry.
After graduating he immediately entered the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and served one year at the naval hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He then went on to practice as Assistant Dental Officer on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He earned his Masters degree in periodontics after a one year Periodontal Fellowship in San Diego and a two-year residency at Loma Linda University.
He then spent three years as head of the periodontics department at the Naval Regional Dental Center in Guam. He left the navy in 1976 to start his periodontal practice in Mission Viejo.

Dr. Hirst has held many elected offices in the Orange County Dental Society including President, Treasurer, Vice-President, and Delegate to the California Dental Association.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Hirst and his wife Valerie live in Laguna Niguel and have six children. He has an interest in Southwestern Indian artifacts and enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.
