OVERVIEW
Robert Glasgow, MD, FACS, is an assistant professor in the Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery, at the University of Utah School of Medicine. His clinical practice and research relate to diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Glasgow is particularly interested in diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract, including the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, stomach, and intestines. His area of expertise is applying new techniques of minimally invasive surgery (endoscopic surgery) to the treatment of both benign and malignant diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Glasgow received his BS in biological sciences from Stanford University and earned his MD at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine where he obtained his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency. While in San Francisco, he also served as a research fellow in gastrointestinal surgery. Glasgow completed a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery at the Legacy …Health System in Portland, Oregon, in 2001. He joined the University of Utah School of Medicine faculty in the Department of Surgery as assistant professor in August 2001 and affiliated with Huntsman Cancer Institute in June 2002.
