"My daughter just had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Sheikh and I have to say this was the worst patient care experience I have ever had in my 50 years. When you go in for a consultation all you get is a video to watch. Then a girl comes in with a credit card machine and in front of your child ask for payment right there without any options of payment plans etc. The office had our insurance information for a month and said they were calling us to let us know what would be owed and that was never taken care of. The doctor came in and asked if we had any questions about the video. Of course we did not it was very clear. He did not discuss what he saw on her x-rays I asked and he said it was a very standard removal. I asked about other things and he said I would get instruction after her surgery. After the surgery, the nurse went through one or two things super fast and gave me papers and just said “follow the instructions” and go get your car. We had no patient check up call the day of ...
surgery and no follow up afterwards. I called the next day with a few questions. We followed all instructions. On day three my daughter, with narcotics, was experiencing very high levels of pain. We were basically told that her pain tolerance was probably low and she just needed to manage the pain. This was New Year’s Eve and within a few hours the office was closed and we were left on our own. Her pain increased throughout the New Year’s Eve night and New Year’s Day. We called the exchange three times and was constantly told that we needed to manage pain. We continue to call and explain that the pain was getting worse and nothing was being done but prescribing Tylenol and ibuprofen. We were under the impression that the doctor was being informed of our needs. At the third night of no pain and no sleep we desperately called the exchange and received no response at all. At this point I also called my daughters dentist who called us a immediately got us in first thing in the morning on a Saturday for an emergency visit to find out that she had 2 dry sockets and an infection. His first question was didn’t she get an antibiotic when they did the surgery? That was denied us even though I requested it. The call three days ago with high levels of pain under narcotic treatment should have been taken care of and should have been addressed immediately. The oral surgeon finally decided to call us an hour after we saw the dentist. He said that he was never given any information that we had ever called in the past three days this was his first acknowledgment of our problem. The neglect and lack of patient care is over the top. I would suggest absolutely nobody get care from this office. Of course her dentist is going to call us later today to see how she’s doing and then check again on Monday. "

"I was not impressed. He did not appear to want to bother with my daughter. He explained away her symptoms of pain and just didn’t seem to be concerned at the severity of her distress. He ignored our claims that we had already tried therapy and splints when younger, but things had only gotten worse. He said that was all he had to offer at this point. That she was young Caucasian, and female, which is common for TMJ Upon pursuit of answers to what the cause of her pain is, we’ve discovered through MRI and CT scans that she has degenerated discs in her jaw and Avascular Necrosis (bone death) on one side. So glad we didn’t give up searching for help. Dr. Shaikh did not seem concerned at all. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
