Immediately following graduation, he began practicing General Dentistry. In 1985, Dr. Hovda was accepted into the Orthodontic Program at the University of Iowa, completing his Residency and earning his Master of Science degree and Orthodontic Certificate in 1987.
Furthering his training, Dr. Hovda completed the Roth/Williams Advanced Orthodontic Program in 1997. This advanced training established Dr. Hovda’s philosophy of creating esthetic, functionally stable results with facial and temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) harmony.
Professional affiliations include the Wisconsin Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Central Wisconsin Orthognathic Study Club and the Marathon County Dental Society.
Dr. Hovda and his wife, Chris, have two children, Ellie and Nick. They have numerous pets and keep very busy with family activities, various sporting activities and church and community functions.
