"Typically writing negative reviews is not my thing. Two poor interactions with Dr. Philip Ramirez and his office need to be publicized so that others have open eyes when dealing with him and his office. First, my daughter broke her leg yesterday, and our insurance requires us to get a referral from a PCP. Unfortunately, the urgent care we went to last night cannot make a referral to an orthopedic surgeon for follow-up care. So we called Dr. Ramirez's office; since she has not been seen by Dr. Ramirez, we were told she would be a new patient and could not be seen until July. Informed by his office that our daughter would have to lay around with a broken leg until July! When my wife asked some follow-up questions, she was curtly told that was their policy. Second, I went to see him and discuss my gastric lap band, weight loss, and blood work done to check on hormone levels since I have several issues. Instead of actually listening and consulting, he just asked me where I would like referrals, ...
too; great, thanks for the referrals. Then he proceeded to lecture me like I was a 10 year old for 25 minutes about weight loss. He believes in physics, and that weight loss is simply a matter of working out more and eating less. Right, so if that worked well for me, I wouldn't need to run miles and miles, lift weights, skip meals and restrict my food with a lap-band. The only tests he ordered were the routine lapwork that you get when doing a physical. TL: DR - Uncaring, uncompassionate, unresponsive, and poor customer service. "
