"Rewriting my review. The one I just submitted is way too long, this one is shorter by ~1600 words (after deleting this paragraph)...BTW, he's only certified in Neurology (not Psychiatry). I believe the 2 reviewers on another website saying they were "slandered" as being "psychological" & that he's being investigated. Was referred because of Autonomic testing at the Faulkner (ordered by another provider) showed Positive test results. No empathy, NO response to questions AT ALL, he & his office LIED to me a few times. Changed the location of my appt (to Hale building where they don't do Autonomic appts) & downgraded my “New Patient” appt to a shorter appt. That’s a Red Flag because of MANY bad experiences over the years with Drs blowing me off, didn’t listen etc while symptoms worsened…so there’s NO WAY I will go to another Dr who will do the same! Then he downgraded my appt AGAIN, to a virtual appt., immediately after I sent him a heads up/BTW that I won’t EVER go to a Psychologist/Psychiatrist ...
as part of “treatment” or anything else… treatment of a PHYSICAL problem... & NO response to my message. He/they then lied to me saying he changed to virtual appt because the Hale building doesn’t do in-person appts. I had them reschedule to the longer appt (in-person) & later I "fact-checked" what they said by calling the Neurology dept at the Hale building as well as 1 other Brigham & Women's number & they both said he DOES do in-person appts at that he LIED!!! Sent Dr. Novak a message after I had "fact-checked" the lie I was told, expressing big concerns of these interactions, the lie from them, & NO response to the two messages I sent, so I needed to ask him (AGAIN because he didn’t respond to my two questions weeks ago) if he thought any part of my test results were from a "psychological" problem or if he was going to label me as having a "psychological" problem. His only response: ..."We're trying to get you an earlier appointment." I didn’t ask for an earlier appt & he didn’t acknowledge anything from my message. Obviously I’m not worth his time & it was obvious he wasn’t going to listen, brush me aside, & mislabel me as something I’m not, if I went ahead with the appt, so I cancelled my New Patient appt…gave him what he obviously wanted!! So no Autonomic Failure/Dysfunction treatment for me, suffering will continue, & symptoms will progress till something happens in one way or another! So be it! Better dead than to be LIED to & treated like #### by Dr. Novak or another Dr/Neurologist!!! "

"I believe the two reviewers on saying they were "slandered" as being "psychological". I have "lived" for years being blown off & "labelled" because 99.9% of the doctors out there won't listen, don't care, & brush you aside because first, that is how the medical community disgustingly treats females and 2nd, because the answer(s) ended up not being easy/common they "label" you! In the past few years I came across a couple of Drs who did listen so was able to start to get answers, the latest answer being positive Autonomic test results done at the Brigham & Women's Faulkner. However, I would not make an appt untiI knew if Dr. Novak (Neurologist) thought any part of my test results was from some kind of "psychological" problem or was going to "label" me as having some kind of "psychological" problem (or not) or. Supposedly he told my Allergist he DIDN'T think my test results etc were from some "psychological" I scheduled an appt. Last week Dr. Novak ...
rescheduled appt to an in-person shorter appt at an 8:30 AM time at the Hale building (he only does New Patient appts at 7:30 AM at the Faulkner). A Red Flag went up so I sent a message informing him that I would not ever go to any kind of Psychologist/Psychiatrist as part of treatment (or eval) for Autonomic failure so he would know, & his response would give me an indicator of whether or not he thought I had some kind of "psychological" problem. If he didn't think so, then me telling him I would never go to a Psychologist/Psychiatrist as part of Autonomic treatment wouldn't be a big deal. His response...he immediately made the appt to a Virtual not only was I not worth the normal length New Patient appt time, I'm now not worth his time to be seen in-person for the New Patient appt. So I pushed back & called his office & talked to Maria, complaining about these points. Maria/Dr. Novak LIED by telling me that they don't do in-person appts at the Hale building (even though it was originally scheduled as an in-person appt). I know when I'm being "played" so I "fact-checked" it by calling two Brigham & Women's numbers, one being the Neurosciences Neurology dept, and BOTH phone numbers told me that Dr. Novak DOES do in-person appts at that they lied to me!! I said I wanted to reschedule because I had made it clear weeks earlier that I wanted an in-person appt, after they asked me what I wanted. She said well he's booking pretty far out but so I said, that I HAD an in-person appt in August before they rescheduled my appt so I shouldn't have to now wait months longer than August because they rescheduled me to something I didn't want. She said it would take her a while to try to find his next opening & she would have to call me back (I pointed out..."but all the times I called to check for cancellations the person only took a couple minutes & checked while I was on the phone.") Maria told me she was new so she needed more time (at that point I didn't believe her). She did call back with a new in-person appt in July which was fine, but they also tried to pawn me off on seeing Dr. Novak's PA. I said absolutely not, I want to see the Dr/specialist & am willing to wait till July if nothing earlier comes up. At this point all "Red Flags" are waving & decided to send message to Dr. Novak after I had "fact-checked" the lie I was told, expressing my real concerns of these interactions, responses, & proven lie from them so I needed to ask him again if he thought any part of my test results were "psychological" or if he was going to label me as having a "psychological" problem. His response..."We're trying to get you an earlier appointment." I didn't ask for an earlier appt in my message to him!!! He didn't answer my 2 questions or respond to ANYTHING in the message I sent him!! So I cancelled my appt. which is obviously what he wanted & now won't get Autonomic treatment. Symptoms will continue to get worse till something happens, "

Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.
