"Dr. Salami, I was in your office yesterday morning in tears, telling your hygienist how unhappy I am with the dental work done on me. I want this email to serve as a paper trail of the complaints I've made to you and your office staff. I agreed to have my two front crowns replaced because I was unhappy with the color. I was told my insurance would cover this change, although I'm questioning how my insurance can cover this change when structurally, nothing was wrong with the crowns. I was only unhappy with the mismatched color. First, I came in for the whitening. When Elaine showed me the color of the new crowns, I told her that I think it should be a whiter shade (a shade up from what she decided). She told me that my teeth color would change and I should stick with the one she chose. Against my better judgment, I agreed and moved forward. However, looking at my new crowns, I realize that a shade whiter is what I should have done. When asking the hygienist about this today, she agreed ...
that a whiter shade would have matched much better. When the new crowns were tested without cement, Elaine asked me what I thought. I told her the crowns were slanted. She assured me that it was slanted only because the cement was not put in yet. She told me once the crowns were cemented, the teeth would straighten out. When you cemented my teeth into place, why was a concern about the slanted nature of them not addressed? I left my appointment, checked my smile in a car mirror, and realized that they were still slanted to my horror. I immediately called the office and asked if I could come back up and talk to the doctor because my crowns were incorrect. The front desk woman said everyone had left for the night, and I could only make an appointment. I agreed to make an appointment for the soonest available. A few days later, I received a call from the front office staff saying I have to push back my appointment. When I came back to speak with you about my crowns, you said they looked slanted because one was slightly longer than the other, so you shaved it down. When you asked me what I thought, I told you that I still think they look slanted. Again, no communication or acknowledgment that, yes, the crowns were indeed slanted. There was complete silence from you at this point. It's hard for me to believe that someone would try to convince me that nothing is wrong with my two front teeth. Or that I imagined something was wrong, and a simple fix would make them less tilted. I know what my teeth looked like before. I know the middle line between my two front teeth should be vertical, not slanted. It takes integrity to acknowledge that something may have gone wrong with my crowns at that point because they were slanted. Anybody could see they were off, and you couldn't even admit: "Yes, these are a little slanted, but the Invisalign will take care of it." or "If you are unhappy at the end of your Invisalign, we can replace it." Not only that, Elaine commented why I didn't come back in right away if I was unhappy with the crowns. This was shocking to me because I tried to come in that very night to voice my concerns. I returned for my Invisalign and told Elaine again that I am very unhappy with the crowns. When the hygenist asked how I liked my crowns, I silently shook my head and showed her what the crowns looked like. She could see why I was unhappy and said not to worry. I was shown the ClinCheck video of what my teeth would like at the end and was assured the crowns would straighten out. That was the first time someone admitted that they were crooked. People keep telling me the Invisalign will fix my smile, but this means I have to walk around for 8 or more months with slanted front teeth. That is unacceptable to me, especially when my smile did not look like this before. Yesterday I started crying in the chair because this whole experience has been horrible. I place a lot of trust in my medical and dental team. Having you not acknowledge tha "
