"This doctor is smart. I have no doubt about that..But being a doctor means you work with people. That means taking the TIME to listen—not talking over the patient and being in a huge rush to meet that 10 minute deadline. Others may not be so receptive to his abrasive bedside manner. I can take it, but others may not be so happy. I walked out of my appointment wondering why I felt annoyed and borderline angry! This doctor needs to slow down. Take the time to listen, maybe even go so far as to show empathy or concern. If those things are too hard, he should just stay behind the scalpel and let a nurse practitioner run the appointments."
