OVERVIEW

Dr. Kroll, a 1964 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, has been helping patients with chronic pain since April 2011. After a successful 43 year career as an ophthalmic surgeon and tempered by his own 45+ year continuing daily battle with chronic pain he saw the need for an ethical, compassionate approach to chronic pain management. He was born and reared in Chicago, IL. He fulfilled his active duty army service before entering the University of Michigan to complete his undergraduate studies. After receiving his medical degree he completed an internship and a three-year residency in ophthalmology in Chicago. He established a private eye surgery practice in San Jose California from 1968 through 1985. While in San Jose he was a member of the faculty of Stanford University Medical School. He was publicly elected for 3 terms to his local school board. He served as president of the Santa Clara County Professional Services Review Organization and was an alternate delegate to the California Medical Association. He and his wife relocated to Hawaii in 1986. He worked as an ophthalmologist at the Hawaiian Eye Center until retiring at the end of 2003. His wife passed away from cancer in 1995 after almost 34 years of marriage that produced 3 children. He remarried in February 1997 and was fortunate enough to find a 2nd angel. They moved to Georgia in 2004. His wife, Sandy, who worked as a clinic supervisor and nurse for Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii for over 30 years is now a critical member of the Kroll Care team. After working for others he established KROLL CARE, a Licensed Georgia Chronic Pain Clinic, which opened in January 2015 as an independent facility dedicated to fulfilling those needs. Doctor Kroll no longer sees patients but takes an active role in oversight and planning. Kroll Care is staffed by 3 MD's and 2 NP's and 3 LPC's (Counselors)

"Honestly, this is by FAR the absolute worst Doctor's Office/Medical Professional/Specialist I've ever had the displeasure of using. SHORT VERSION: They act less like a Professional Clinic, and more like a jealous Ex that keeps your favorite jacket and holds it ransom after you figure out she's not good for you. LONG VERSION: Things started out seeming to be good. They had a rigorous screening process, while it took a very LONG first visit, it gave me hope that I was in the right place to seek care for my nerve pain. Their waiting room even had poster that mentions an option for Chiropractic Care. I spoke with one of their Doctors and made it clear that I wasn't very interested in pain pills, as I'm fully aware of the damage they can do, and they tend to make me sick. I explained that I wanted more alternative methods: Chiropractic, spinal injections, Medical marijuana, etc. I was prescribed pain pills and muscle relaxers, which isn't outside the norm, so I accepted them and hoped ...
that different methods would be taken in the future. The next visit the following week took over two hours (well over my lunch break) were I had to sit giving a urine sample, psych evaluation, and a brief meeting with the nurse, followed by a brief sit with the Doctor. I was told they don't yet have a medical marijuana license so that wouldn't be an option. They also don't have Chiropractic care either, despite showing it as an option in the lobby. I was given another set of the prescriptions, without any other options. This went on for 5 more visits (all during my lunch breaks), one of them taking over 3 hours! They had their own Radiologist do scans of my neck and spine only to exclaim "Man, you actually are in pain!" at the reveal of my screwed up back. As if they didn't believe me beforehand? Each was the same, and I was asked why the pain pills weren't in my system, and had to refer to my first statement, "because they make me sick and I don't like pain pills." There's little point in being so ill that you can't do anything, so it's just trading illness for pain. I will use them only when absolutely necessary. Which is why I sought out alternative methods to deal with the pain. After my last visit, I had finally had enough, and did not reschedule. I sought out another Pain Management Center, and made 100% sure that they actually had the alternative methods this time, and not just mentioning it. I left emails and voices requesting that my medical records from Kroll Care be forwarded to the new Clinic. It took forever and I never heard back, and finally had to go there in person. They finally stated they wouldn't release the records without an "Official Letterhead" from the new Clinic. While annoying that seemed fair. I made a trip to the new Clinic, obtained their office's letterhead and filled out all of the requested information (The new Office's information, Kroll Care's information, my information/signature/etc) and had the new Clinic fax it over. Days of no response, I had to reach out to them again. They denied the claim for my records as the Official Letterhead from the Office didn't "meet their standards" even though it contained all the information they requested. The new Clinic was shocked it would be denied as this is the very same letterhead they send out to Hospitals and other offices. So after a few more unreturned phone calls, I finally got someone on the phone to say I could get my Medical records in person from the their Office. I returned to Kroll Care and had to wait to quite a while. Finally I was told I could receive the records, but they would cost $67! That much for a few pages of paper?! Stating that it is a GA Law and that there's no negotiating. After looking up the "Law", it does allow them to charge you for it, but it loosely gives them option to charge basically whatever they want (what is deemed "necessary"). STAY AWAY! "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
