Dr. Masoud Saman, MD

Dr. Saman is a dual-trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive as well as Head and Neck Surgeon. His aesthetic practice is focused entirely on the face and includes complex rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, as well as Botox and fillers. Dr. Saman graduated from Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. It was during his undergraduate years that he discovered his passion for science and medicine. During college he was the recipient of an International Studies Scholarship to the Sorbonne University in Paris, France where he studied French language and humanities. Upon his return, he attended the University of Texas HSC San Antonio Medical School graduating at the top of his class with Distinction in Research and induction into the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society. Although Dr. Saman entered medical school planning to become a neurosurgeon, his transition to a career in head and neck surgery was a seamless one. His interest in the field led to several research projects for which he was granted National Institute of Health research funding at the Harvard Medical School where he conducted clinical research in 2006. Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Saman completed his General Surgery Internship at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, NY. Subsequently, he attended the Mount Sinai New York Eye and Ear Infirmary to complete his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency. During this time, Dr. Saman trained with some of the pioneers surgeons and world leaders in the fields of Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Oculoplastic Surgery and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery. This training was then followed by an additional year of subspecialized training focused on advanced head and neck cancer surgery, microvascular reconstruction, facial trauma and facial plastic surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and under the tutelage of Yadranko Ducic, MD. What makes Dr. Saman's training background unique is its multidisciplinary nature, including extensive training with Head and Neck, Craniofacial, Maxillofacial, and Plastic Surgery colleagues. Dr. Saman has been involved with humanitarian missions and work since 2006, when he and his wife, Parya (a pediatric dentist), founded Chance to Smile, a nonprofit educational organization to raise awareness about children born with facial deformities. Since then he has been on several surgical mission trips, most recently to Peru with Healing the Children Northeast, where he was among a group of 4 surgeons treating children born with cleft lip and/or palate. With a true passion for education and advancement of the field, Dr. Saman has lectured and published widely. In addition he has been actively involved in the training of other physicians and was the proud recipient of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Resident Teaching Award in 2014. His publications range from maxillofacial trauma, congenital facial deformities, and head and neck cancer, to facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Saman's practice encompasses the full gamut of head and neck surgical oncology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. This includes all head and neck cancers, congenital deformities, maxillofacial trauma, skullbase tumors, microvascular reconstruction, and cosmetic facial surgery.
