My mission.....
As a family physician, my mission is to help my patients to realize the importance of taking care of their health. My motto is \"Preventive Healthcare, a Smarter Approach to Healthy Life\". I strongly believe that an individual with healthy body and a stable mind has the opportunity to live an enjoyable and a most rewarding life. Our team here at Bluebonnet family clinic believes that our patients' needs are of at most importance, and we are committed to meeting those needs. I thoroughly enjoy the individual interaction with my patients.
Where it all began.....
I came to United States in 1975 at age 22 from India with my husband, a pediatrician for further studies in pediatrics. Even though our initial plan was to return back to India after his studies in Long Island New York, he decided to adopt this country, moved to Louisiana in 1978 to continue his pediatric career. We have 3 adult children all pursuing their careers in medicine.
After completing …B.S.(Dietetics) degree from LSU, Baton Rouge in 1983, I worked initially as a dietitian, and later as a teacher with EBR school system in Baton Rouge, LA. While pursuing graduate studies in science education, my desire to pursue medicine rekindled. At the ripe age of 37, I got admission to LSU School of Medicine, New Orleans, and I obtained M.D. degree in 1994. I did internship at Earl K Long Hospital, and Family Medicine residency training at Baton Rouge General Hospital, and obtained board certification in Family Practice in 1997. During the next nine years I worked as a family physician with Baton Rouge General Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake Hospital respectively. In 2005, I established Bluebonnet Family Clinic LLC, a private family practice clinic to continue comprehensive health care for the individual and family which encompasses all ages, both sexes, every organ system and disease entity. I thoroughly enjoy my work, and some of my patients may remember my quote, \" I want to help and direct you to learn to take the best care of yourself, and if you forget to take care of yourself, who else will\"?
