Dr. Mark Joseph Tatara, MD

Mark J. Tatara, MD, joined Lutheran Medical Group in September 2010. Prior to that, he practiced with Indiana Medical Associates for 20 years, joining the group in 1990. Dr. Tatara graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Loyola University of Chicago in 1982. He earned a medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago in 1986, and he completed a residency in internal medicine in 1989 and a general internal medicine fellowship in 1990, both at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill. Dr. Tatara has been privileged at Lutheran Hospital since 1991 and has held numerous leadership positions, including pharmacy and therapeutics committee chair, co-director of medical education, chairman and vice chairman of the internal medicine committee, chairman of the internal medicine peer review committee, chairman of the medicine committee and chairman of the patient care assessment committee. He has been a member of the Lutheran Hospital Medical Executive Committee since 1992 and has served as director of medical education at Lutheran since 1997. , since 1990, Dr. Tatara has taught medical students at the Indiana University School of Medicine and residents in the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. Dr. Tatara is board certified in internal medicine and is a certified clinical densitometrist. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Indiana State Medical Association and the Fort Wayne/Allen County Medical Society.
