Maria Teresa DiBenedetto, DDS, DMD
It was inevitable that Dr. Di Benedetto would end up in the medical field -- with her father and brother both physicians, it was just a matter of whether she'd be a physician, too, or a doctor in dental medicine. As she says, "I love to create beautiful smiles!" So, dentistry it was.
Dr. Di Benedetto is a native of Santiago, Chile. She moved to the United States with a dental degree on her hands and five years of experience working as a general dentist at her own private practice. She joined the International Dental Program at Tufts University, from which she graduated with a DMD degree in 1996.
Dr. Di Benedetto is both a family dentist -- she especially likes working with children -- and a cosmetic dentist. She does indeed love to create beautiful smiles, and see how it transforms patients' self-confidence, leaving them feeling happy about themselves.
She has a firm philosophy that to treat the whole person, it is necessary to spend significant time …just listening to each patient. "Sometimes patients just make an appointment to meet me, not to do any treatment, but just to get to know me. I think that's very important. You can't do wonderful dentistry if you are rushed. We take the time to listen first, and take action only after we know what the patient wants. We really care about that. It's the personal touch that you develop with each patient that makes dentistry so fascinating."
Dr. Di Benedetto speaks English, Spanish, and Italian. She and her husband, Lorenzo, and two children, Pablo, 6 and Isabella, 2, enjoy family time together -- and they all just love to go skiing at every opportunity.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Hispanic Dental Association.
