Dr. Maile Kim grew up observing her dad practice pediatric dentistry in Kailua, Hawai'i. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Pacific Union College and upon graduation decided to follow in her father's footsteps and pursue a career in dentistry.
Dr. Kim graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California. She completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York, followed by a two-year pediatric specialty residency at New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Kim is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also on the medical staff at Castle Medical Center where she treats patients under general anesthesia. Since 2009, she has been a consulting faculty for the Lutheran Medical Center Pediatric Dental Residency - Hawai'i training site. …Dr. Kim has published research articles in Journal of School Health and Pediatric Dentistry (2012). She is a member of the Hawai'i Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. For the past several years, Dr. Kim has served on numerous outreach trips and provided dental care to underserved areas in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, India, Costa Rica, and Bolivia.
