Dr. Louis Carnendran, M.D., F.A.C.C., joined HealthworX in November, 2009. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida, Tampa from 2005 to 2009. He functioned as the University’s Director of Interventional Cardiology, Director of Interventional Cardiology training program, Director of Nuclear Cardiology and as the Acting Director of Echocardiography. His Medical Residency, Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology fellowships were at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, a teaching hospital of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York (1994-1999). He did his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut (2000-01). He has performed cardiac research at national level and is well published in cardiology. He is also an active member of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr Carnendran is an expert in general cardiology, preventive cardiology (cholesterol and BP control, etc.), cardiac critical care (heart attack, heart failure, etc.), cardiac imaging (Echo, cardiac stress scans, etc.) and interventional cardiology (angioplasty, stents, etc.).
