"My dental implant nightmare with Dr Larry Suher. I am writing this review for anyone considering dental implant surgery with Dr Larry Suher. Based on my experience, I don’t think Dr Larry Suher is competent to perform dental implant surgery. First, let me say I’ve been a faithful patient of Dr Suher for over 30 years... from filings, root canals, crowns, partials, to full dentures... the works. I’ve learned to tolerate Dr Suher’s heavy hands and rushed demeanor. Each time trusting I’ve made a sound dental decision. When I decided to have my remaining teeth removed and get full upper and lower dentures, Dr Suher explained that the upper dentures would be made so that it naturally stayed in place by suction to the roof of mouth, however the lower denture has no natural retention. The options presented would be to use a product like ‘Denture Cream’... not a very good long term option, or Dr Suher could perform ‘Mini’ dental implant surgery which would allow the denture to be attached ...
securely to the implants during the day, and the denture would be removed at night. I made the decision to get the ‘Mini’ dental implants after assurances from Dr Suher and his office manager that he had done many of these procedures... I should have asked if they were successful procedures! From the day of the implant surgery, until I lost confidence in Dr Suher’s ability to complete the procedure 4 months later, it was fraught with incompetence, failure after failure, delays, and countless repeat trips to the dentist to redo the same work. I would remove the lower denture at night, and the implant would pull out of my jaw along with the denture... The next day, Dr. Suher would put the implant back in the same hole and send me home. Within a day, it was back out... Dr Suher’s answer was to get bigger implants... and he stuck them back in the same hole (I was at his mercy at this point... I can’t even eat.) it was just a matter of time until the larger implants pulled out. At this point he drilled a new hole in my jaw... freehand , no $500 dental surgery guide. 4 weeks later I still had no feeling in the side of my face due to the fact that Dr Suher drilled directly into my facial nerve. Anytime I would chew, it would aggravate the nerve. I think he said I might have to get used to it!?! After Multiple implants pulled out multiple times, I could no longer proceed with Dr Suher... a total lack of confidence. I called Dr Suher’s office and spoke with his office manager, who was well aware of my treatment progress. After explaining that another implant pulled out, she was very apologetic. I think she said “I don’t blame you“. At this point, I’ve paid for implants that were never right, a lower denture that was modified so much I can’t wear it, and an upper denture that would have to be replaced based on a new treatment plan with a competent dentist. Dr Suher’s office manager said she would discuss the situation with Dr Suher to see what he could do. It’s been 8 months and I’ve never heard from them... so much got patient loyalist. "
