Meet Dr. Melton

r. Kirk Melton is a native of Metairie, Louisiana.  He is an alumnus of Archbishop Rummel High      School  in Metairie, where he graduated with high honors. In 1990, he began his pre-dental studies at the University of New Orleans, finishing with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Afterwards, he attended the Louisiana State School of Dentistry, graduating in 2000. At LSU, he was inducted into the C. Edmund Kells honor society, and, was recipient of the Carl Baldridge Memorial Scholarship. After graduating, he began private practice with his father-in-law, Dr. Elwood LeBlanc, in Metairie. When Dr. LeBlanc retired, Dr. Melton absorbed his father-in-law's practice into his own. Dr. Melton also served as a part-time instructor in the Department of Operative Dentistry and Biomaterials at LSU Dental School from 2002-2005.
Dr. Melton and his wife, Kristen, have resided in Mandeville the past 10 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Leah and Rachael. His hobbies include photography, computers, keeping marine aquariums, gardening, and spending time with his children.
Dr. Melton is a general dentist whose primary interest in dentistry is the replacement of teeth via the use of dental implants. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and, is pursuing his fellowship in the Academy. He attends 2-3 times the continuing education hours required per year to maintain his licensure, keeping him abreast of the latest techniques and materials in modern dentistry.
