Dr. Kavita Deonarine, MD

With her father, a Psychiatrist, as an early role model, Dr. Deonarine viewed medicine as a noble career. She chose to study medicine, starting with a BS/MD program, gaining admission to college and medical school straight out of high school. Influenced by great mentors, she found surgery to be a natural fit. She loves following patients from the office to surgery to post-operational care.Dr. Deonarine sees adults for all kinds of general surgery, including acute and emergency care. She also performs endoscopies and colonoscopies. She holds a special interest in robotic surgery including hernia repair, colorectal and breast surgery.Dr. Deonarine views medicine as a team approach with the patient at the center. She believes in educating her patients about their options and involving them in treatment decisions. Dr. Deonarine also encourages everyone to live a healthy lifestyle and to not smoke so they may live better.Married to a scientist and Cincinnati native, Dr. Deonarine returned …to the area after practicing in Seattle. She enjoys archery with her husband and spending time together with their young son. She is passionate about painting, sketching and printmaking.
