"I was referred to Dr. Fischer with "high suspicion" for oncologic disease.
In particular, with worsening pain, widespread lymphadenopathy, whole body itching and weight (muscle) loss (I will omit here lots of details and history).
Her major attitude was to dismiss anything that's coming her way.
She ignored reports with abnormal lymph node morphology, ignored obvious signs of possible cancer: pruritus, weight loss, widespread pain, abnormal imaging studies. I also have to mention I'm not impressed at all with her bedside manner or attitude.
She asked "why do you think you have cancer"?
It was like it was me who referred myself to her, not my primary care.
In the end she said that she was "not convinced". Do I have to convince her, or does oncologist suppose to do anything possible to rule out cancer, if there is at least a suspicion?
And instead of creating a plan for a proper diagnosis, she left it "up to the surgeon" if he/she would find the need to do a biopsy! Therefore leaving ...me with no medical care or support.
So if you happen to be referred to see Dr. Fischer, avoid her at all cost! "Read more
